With NDOT’s upcoming upgrade there are a few changes with the next upgrade we wanted users to be aware are coming. Many users may already be aware of these upcoming changes as a result of training that occurred in the past couple months where this functionality was discussed.



  1.  When adding new items to the contract via change order, the funding assignments can now be made directly on the change order itself.

     *   Care should be taken to ensure the proper funding is still assigned. NDOT currently still assigns funding to the category of items, so users should review fund packages assigned to the category where the item is being placed to ensure the funding matches. Don’t worry if it’s wrong we’ll be in touch 😊.

  1.  Probably the most popular update with this upgrade will be the update coming for how some test results can be added. For some tests like LWD in the past, users needed to add a new test for each set of new test results. This was done to allow AASHTOWare Project to attempt to calculate an accurate number of tests represented to count toward contract material requirements. With the update on April 9th, we’ll be able to count multiple instances of test results within one assigned test. For select tests in the system, users will find a new option to click a new button and add the additional instance.

  1.  Lastly, most know the pains with assigning the Ref Spec to a given Sample Record Test. While we did create a process last year to assist with this, users needed to remember to run that process. With the upgrade these Ref Spec will self-assign based on the contract letting date thus removing a need for the user to manually assign the Ref Spec (check the box) or remember to run the process. So, we’ve removed the process we created last year as it’s no longer necessary.
